The above is a detailed document of my design process and product.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">My project in a nutshell:</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Children in urban spaces are curtailed in play by lack of physical space, security and an absence of facilities. They tend therefore, to depend on technology and virtual media which further estranges them from their natural environments, limits physical activity and makes play insular.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">To tackle these issues, I first observed and documented various children at play. Their learning methods and needs were mapped as was their level of understanding. The other stakeholders of the toy market too were interviewed.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">This information led me to the development of <em>Insectival </em>- a life sized board game for 6 to 8 year old children that introduces them to the world of insects.
